What to Expect on Sunday
Redeemer Fellowship Church began Sunday morning services on September 27th. We hope that you’ll come and visit us. Of course we know that going to a new place with unknown expectations can leave you feeling a little anxious, so we’ve listed a few things that should help you understand what it will look like when you come to visit.
Dress
We welcome you to dress comfortably and be yourself. Most people at Redeemer will dress somewhat casually while others will dress up. Jeans are certainly fine as well as shorts during the warmer weather.
What do I do when I get there?
When you walk in the front doors a friendly person will greet you, give you a worship guide, answer any questions that you might have, and show you where to go for childcare or for the service itself.
What happens during the gathering?
The worship guide you receive will give you an idea of what to expect during our time together. We want you to enjoy your time with us so we invite you to participate as much or as little as you like. We’ll give some simple instructions throughout the service to let you know when to stand or sit. During our time together we will sing, pray, read Scripture, laugh, hear stories of how God has transformed people’s lives, and hear a message that is both Biblical and practical.
Music
The music we will sing at Redeemer will be a blend of both old and new. We love the doctrinally rich older hymns (sometimes sung to a new tune) as well as the newer choruses. We believe that diversity in the music style is a way of loving one another, knowing that some prefer an organ while others prefer a guitar. In short, at Redeemer you will enjoy a nice mix.
Sermons
The preaching at Redeemer will typically be expositional, which simply means that we will preach through books of the Bible. Sermons will typically last between 45-55 minutes and will be loaded with practical application. Our sermon series will alternate between Old and New Testaments, but all sermons will be gospel centered, since Jesus is the focal point of every book of the Bible.
After the Service
The service will usually last about 90 minutes and we invite you to hang around for a little while when we’re done. Refreshments will be available each week, which provides a great opportunity for our people to meet newcomers and fellowship with one another.
